Cheque bounce case | Court sentences man to 2 years imprisonment

Srinagar, Dec 28: A court has here sentenced a man to two years imprisonment and directed him to pay one and half of the amount of dishonored cheques amounting to Rs 8250000.

“The complainant has been able to prove the commission of offence under section138 by the accused Hilal Ahmad Khan R/O Hussani Public School, Industry Area H.M.T Batamaloo, Srinagar for which the accused is hereby convicted,” said a judgment passed by Third Additional Munsiff, Moneer Ahmad.

“…. by commission of the offence the accused person has dragged the complainant to litigation which is pending for the last more than seven years,” court said.
