Chemist’s throat slit body found in J&K’s Kathua
Srinagar, June 10: A 35-year-old chemist was found dead with his throat slit open near his home in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.
Suspecting murder, the death of Amarjit Sharma sparked protests by his relatives and neighbors, who demanded immediate arrest of elements involved in the matter.
Sharma was found dead outside his house in Mela village by his family members late Sunday night after they started searching for him when he didn’t return home, officials said.
Hundreds of people, carrying Sharma’s body, blocked Jammu-Pathankot highway and the nearby railway track in Hiranagar area around 9 am this morning, however they were dispersed after police and civil administration assured stringent action against the persons involved in the crime.
