Srinagar, Sep 19: Chandni Book House, a specialised resource for IGNOU help books was inaugurated at Bemina today.

The event was attended by prominent social figures and educationists. The Book House was inaugurated by educationists, Arif Geelani, and Dr Touseef Bhat besides social worker Syed Aijaz Kashani.

Dr Touseef Bhat who is also secretary of Rotary International, delivered the keynote address, emphasising the importance of accessible educational resources for students. “This initiative will greatly benefit learners, especially those pursuing distance education,” Dr. Bhat remarked. He applauded the owner, Syed Ishrat, for her vision and dedication to support students through this initiative.

Prominent social worker Syed Aijaz Kashani also spoke at the event, highlighting the vital role that bookstores play in promoting education in the region. He expressed his hope that Chandni Book House would become a beacon of knowledge for the community.

Special guest, Syed Arif Geelani, a retired senior educationist, offered prayers for the success of the book house and praised the initiative as a valuable addition to the educational landscape of Kashmir. Also in attendance were Shakir Hussain Shah, Senior Manager of Software Engineering, and Neelu Farhat, a teacher, who expressed their support for the new initiative.
