CGC Jhanjeri becomes CGC University Mohali

Chandigarh, Aug 20: Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Jhanjeri, officially transitioned to CGC University, Mohali, marking a transformative step in its 25-year legacy. The announcement was made at a press conference held at JW Marriott, Chandigarh, highlighting the university’s focus on tech-driven, industry-integrated education.

A statement issued here said that CGC University, Mohali aims to become India’s hub for AI-led innovation and digital learning. Its curriculum emphasises practical industry exposure, certifications co-developed with corporates, and a 50:50 learning model where faculty and industry experts share equal responsibility in shaping student outcomes. The university seeks to prepare students not just for jobs but for leadership in a rapidly evolving digital economy.

The press event was attended by Founder Chancellor S. Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, Managing Director Arsh Dhaliwal, Executive Director Dr. Sushil Prashar, and industry leaders from IBM, KPMG, EY, Cognitel, Microsoft, Autodesk, Meta, and Imarticus Learning.

Founder Chancellor S. Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal emphasised inclusive education, stating every student deserves the opportunity to learn and grow. Arsh Dhaliwal outlined the vision for industry-integrated learning, including internships with stipends up to Rs. 1 lakh. Dr. Prashar highlighted the hands-on 50:50 teaching model, blending faculty-led instruction with real-world industry guidance.

CGC University, Mohali, also supports rural–urban skill development, MSMEs, and government initiatives such as Skill India, Startup India, and Digital India. The university aims to nurture tech-enabled, future-ready leaders and innovators.
