Centre committed to establishing lasting peace in J&K: Amit Shah

New Delhi, Jan 8: Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Amit Shah, on Thursday, said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Centre was committed to establishing lasting peace in Jammu and Kashmir and completely eliminating terrorism.

Chairing a security review meeting on Jammu and Kashmir in New Delhi, Union Home Minister Shah reiterated the zero tolerance policy against terrorism and said that due to sustained and coordinated efforts of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government, the terror ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir had been crippled.

Shah appreciated the efforts of the security agencies for strengthening the security scenario of J&K.

He said that counter-terror operations targeting terrorist infrastructure and terror financing should be continued in a mission mode.

The Union Home Minister directed all security agencies to remain alert and continue to work in synergy to ensure that the gains achieved after the abrogation of Article 370 are sustained and the goal of “terror-free J&K” is achieved at the earliest.

He assured that all the resources would be made available in this endeavor.

Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, Union Home Secretary Govid Mohan, Director IB Tapan Kumar Deka, Chief Secretary of J&K Atal Dulloo, and Director General Police (DGP) J&K Nalin Prabhat, heads of CAPFs, and other senior officers were also present in the meeting.
