Kangan: Sep 25: As the Kangan assembly constituency on Wednesday witnessed an unprecedented polling; the participation of elderly and first time voters was also noticed.

“The day of election is one of the celebrations as this day has come after a decade which usually comes after five years that too with an opportunity to decide our future as far as the development and good work is concerned,” Ghulam Rasool Mir , who claims to be 100 years old at Gund. said. Another Octogenarian , Ghulam Rasool Akhoon of Gund area in Kangan constituency also casted his vote at polling station Gund-B. He was accompanied by his grandchildren . “I have never missed a chance to vote. It is our right to vote and it is not good to waste it,” he told Greater Kashmir after casting ballot at Gund.

Meanwhile, many first time voters also casted their votes.
