CEC LAHDC Kargil meets union minister
Kargil, May 29: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil Dr Mohammad Jaffer Akhoon called on Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs, Kiren Rijiju in New Delhi.
Sources said detailed deliberation and discussions were followed regarding various developmental issues and welfare of minorities particularly related to Ladakh UT. CEC Dr Jaffer highlighted the need of more avenues for minority students of Ladakh in higher educational institutions across India.
The CEC also suggested to the Union Minister to explore minority schemes for the students of Ladakh. He also asked for a special Muharram package for Union Territory of Ladakh. During the meeting various developmental issues of Ladakh were discussed. To all the suggestions and demands the Union Minister gave a patient hearing and assured that needful will be done.
The CEC Kargil also invited the Union Minister to participate as guest in the upcoming Suru Valley Festival 2025 to be held on July 14 and 15. The Minister accepted the invitation and assured to review the developmental works in the region.
