Kargil, Oct 22: Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr Mohammad Jaffer Akhoon on Tuesday released the first ever Arabic text book of Class 1st to 8th for govt schools at Conference Hall Baroo.

Executive Councilor, Aga Syed Mujtaba, Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Shrikant Balasaheb Suse, Councilors of LAHDC, Chief Education Officer Kargil, Principle DIER, Dr Abdul Aziz, Arabic teachers representative of various religious organizations besides other concerned were present during the book release ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, CEC Kargil expressed gratitude to Dr Abdul Aziz and his team for compiling the basic Arabic text books for the Government Schools. The CEC said it is a historic moment for the whole Ladakh. He said that the Arabic language has a very vast scope in terms of providing employment to the coming generation in various fields including adventure tourism, medical tourism, translation and other fields. He said, “Arabic language is spoken in almost all of the Middle East countries which will enable it to make relations with Kargil and Middle East.

Arabic language should not only be looked at through the prism of religion adding it is a sweet language spoken globally which should be treated as a language only.” He also said that this book will not only help students to learn Arabic but also people who are interested can also benefit. CEC Kargil also said that a committee has appeared before the UT Government and Government of India to engage Arabic teachers on the pattern of Boti, Hindi and Urdu teachers under Samagra Shiksha. He also highlighted the huge role of Dr Abdul Aziz for introducing Ladakh into the imagination of Middle Eastern communities as a popular tourist destination.

He also said that Dr Abdul Aziz has also been introduced with certain delegations from the Middle Eastern groups and had fruitful discussions to boost Kargil as a popular tourist destination in the Arabian countries.
