CDS visits NCC Republic Day Camp at Delhi Cantt
New Delhi, Jan 13: Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan visited the NCC Republic Day Camp 2025 at Delhi Cantt on January 13. Addressing the cadets, he reiterated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision that India’s future rests with its youth, noting that young people make up about 27 per cent of the country’s population.
The CDS highlighted the achievements of NCC cadets and their contributions to government and social initiatives such as Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam, Puneet Sagar Abhiyan, Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat camps and success in events like the Mavlankar Shooting Championship.
He also noted the national importance of January, which includes Youth Day, Veterans’ Day, Army Day and Republic Day, and urged cadets to strive for excellence, remain optimistic and never give up. During the visit, General Chauhan reviewed a Guard of Honour by NCC cadets from all three wings, witnessed a band performance by the Newman College (Girls) Band from Kerala, and inspected the Flag Area showcasing social awareness themes by 17 NCC Directorates. He also visited the NCC Hall of Fame and attended a cultural programme presented by the cadets.
