CAT Judicial Member feliciated for distinguished contributions in law, public service

Srinagar, Jul 28: The University of Kashmir has felicitated Mir Syed Latif, Judicial Member of the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) in Srinagar for his distinguished contributions to the field of law and public service and for upholding the values of justice, integrity and intellectual commitment throughout his career.

Latif earned his B. Com (Honours) and LL.B. (Honours) degrees from the University of Kashmir, laying a strong academic foundation for a professional journey defined by legal excellence and public responsibility, reads citation in his honour.

After enrolling with the Bar at the High Court of Jammu anal Kashmir, he actively practised law across Civil, Criminal, Service, and Arbitration Laws, appearing before District Courts, the High Courts, and the Central Administrative Tribunal. He was widely respected for his sharp legal insight, articulate advocacy and principled approach to the law.

In addition to his successful legal practice, Latif served in significant advisory capacities including as Senior Legal Advisor to the University of Kashmir, the State Information Commission, the Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes, and Other Backward Classes Development Corporation of the Government of Jammu and Kashmir.

As Judicial Member of the Central Administrative Tribunal, Latif continues to play a vital role in ensuring fair adjudication in matters of public administrations and service law.
