Rajouri, June 13: Security forces Thursday conducted Cordon and Search Operations (CASOs) at five different locations across border district Rajouri after reports of suspicious movement in these areas.

Operations in three of these areas were going on when the last reports were received.

Official sources said that the CASOs were launched in a village near LoC in Nowshera; two other areas of Kalakote sub division; one area of Thanamandi sub division and one area of Kotranka sub division.

They informed that some specific information, from all these areas regarding suspicious movement, was received after which the response was made as per SoPs.

Official sources added that the teams of Jammu and Kashmir Police, CAPF and Indian army jointly carried out these operations. The operations in the areas of Kalakote and Nowshera were still going on.

Senior officers of forces were leading these operations.

Besides these five CASOs, the search operations in different villages of Teryath tehsil of Rajouri, sharing boundary with Reasi district, entered its fifth consecutive day on Thursday.

These operations were launched after Sunday's attack on a bus carrying pilgrims in which nine persons including seven pilgrims were killed while forty-two other pilgrims had sustained injuries.

The attack site is located at a distance of around six kilometres from Rajouri district boundary.
