Carpenter dies after falling from under-construction Mosque in Kulgam

Srinagar, Nov 19: A 55-year-old carpenter from Nanibugh Kulgam died after suffering severe injuries from a fall at an under-construction Masjid in the district. Officials said the incident occurred while the worker was on duty at the construction site.

The deceased was identified as Bashir Ahmad Thoker, son-in-law of Gul Mohammad Thoker, hailing from Nanibugh. According to preliminary inputs, he slipped from the upper portion of the structure during work and sustained critical injuries.

Locals shifted him to District Hospital Kulgam, where medical staff referred him to SMHS Hospital Srinagar for specialised treatment. However, he succumbed to his injuries despite efforts to save his life.

Police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated necessary proceedings to ascertain the circumstances leading to the fall. [KNT]
