Jammu, Aug 25: Amid reports about the directions of MHA for enhanced security to ensure peaceful assembly elections in J&K, companies of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) Sunday arrived here for deployment in Jammu district.

Superintendent of Police headquarters Jammu, accompanied by DySP DAR Jammu and other officers of Police and CAPFs received the CAPF companies at Railway Station Jammu.

“District Police Jammu warmly welcomed the CAPF companies which arrived in the district for election duties. Senior officials, with great enthusiasm, expressed the district's gratitude for their support and confidence in their presence to ensure a safe and smooth electoral process,” officials said.

“The warm welcome by Jammu Police signifies its commitment and readiness to work in close collaboration with the CAPF personnel,” officials added.

“Police assured full cooperation and coordination with the CAPF forces to facilitate their duties and enable the peaceful and orderly execution of the electoral process,” they added.

On August 23, the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Jammu zone Anand Jain had directed the officers to expedite CAPFs’ induction and mobilisation. He had exhorted all the officers to remain vigilant and proactive in addressing any challenges that might arise during the induction and deployment of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) units in the wake of upcoming assembly polls.

ADGP was discussing the induction plan and mobilization of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) in the region.

With focus on ensuring a whole coordination among the forces deployed in J&K besides the strategic mobilization of CAPFs and addressing any logistic and operational challenges that might arise during the deployment, senior officers from CAPF, including IG CRPF, IG BSF, DIG SSB, DIG CISF, CO of RPF and other related agencies, had provided insights and discussed the intricacies involved in the process.
