Canara Bank donates Rs 25 lakh to CM’s relief fund for flood-affected families
Srinagar, Sep 20: In a gesture of solidarity with the people of J&K affected by the recent floods, Canara Bank has contributed Rs 25 lakh (Rupees Twenty-Five Lakh) to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
The cheque was presented to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah by Manoj Kumar Das, Circle Head of Canara Bank, in Srinagar. He was accompanied by Shri Prashant Kumar, Regional Head. The contribution underscores the Bank’s commitment to supporting communities in times of crisis.
Das said, “Canara Bank has always believed in going beyond banking to uphold its commitment to social welfare. This contribution is a small step to support those rebuilding their lives after the devastating floods.”
The Chief Minister thanked the Bank for its timely support, noting that the funds would be used to provide relief and rehabilitation to the families most severely affected.
This initiative forms part of Canara Bank’s broader corporate social responsibility efforts, which include disaster relief, social upliftment, and community development across the country.
