New Delhi, Nov 4: Campaigning for the first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections ended on Tuesday at 5 pm.

A total of 121 constituencies across 18 districts will go to the polls on November 6 under tight security arrangements.

On the final day, leaders from both the ruling NDA and the opposition Mahagathbandhan made their last efforts to win voter support through multiple rallies, public meetings, and roadshows across the State. Senior BJP leaders campaigned in several districts. Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed gatherings in Darbhanga, East Champaran, and West Champaran, while Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also joined the campaign in key constituencies.

From the Mahagathbandhan, Congress leaders campaigned in Gaya and Aurangabad. The alliance’s Chief Ministerial candidate, Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, addressed multiple rallies across Samastipur, Begusarai, Saharsa, Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, and Vaishali. Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav also joined the campaign in Gaya to support alliance candidates. On Monday, the penultimate day of the campaign, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, and party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi held major rallies in different parts of Bihar. The first phase of voting on November 6 will mark the start of a two-phase election (the second phase will be held on November 11) to decide the next government in the State. to elect all 243 members of the state assembly.
