Mukherjee had argued that the movie misrepresented his grandfather by portraying him in a derogatory manner and had sought deletion or modification of certain scenes, along with a stay on the film’s release in West Bengal.
He also questioned the role of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), claiming a lack of response to his RTI application. The Court held that the petition, based on the alleged inaction of the CBFC, was not maintainable and dismissed the plea.
