Cabinet adopts resolution welcoming return of Group Captain Shukla
New Delhi, Jul 16: The Union Cabinet has adopted Wednesday a resolution welcoming the safe return of Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla from the International Space Station, following the successful completion of his historic 18-day space mission.
As Mission Pilot of the Axiom-4 crew, Shukla became the first Indian astronaut to visit the ISS, marking a major breakthrough in the country's human spaceflight journey.
The Cabinet described his return as a moment of national pride and commended the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and the scientific community for their contributions. During the mission, launched on June 25, 2025, Shukla conducted pioneering experiments in microgravity, reinforcing India’s growing role in international space collaboration and advancing research critical for future missions under Gaganyaan and beyond.
