Burglars strike nomad’s home in Rajouri village, steal valuables

Budhal, Jul 19: Unidentified burglars looted cash, jewelry, and household items from a nomadic family's home in Ward No. 6, Gujjar Mohalla of Gabbar Panchayat in Rajouri district while they were away on seasonal migration.

The incident occurred in the jurisdiction of Budhal Police Station, where the house of Mohammad Shakoor, son of the late Hakim Din, was broken into in his family’s absence. The family had moved to the upper hills with their livestock for summer grazing, as part of their traditional migratory lifestyle.

According to the family, the intruders reportedly broke a bathroom pipe to gain access and then damaged the main gate lock to enter the house. The stolen items included several thousand rupees in cash, jewelry, and five blankets.

The burglary has been reported to the local police.

Residents of the area have urged authorities to take swift action, identify the culprits, and enhance security to prevent such incidents in the future.
