Burglars decamp with transformer parts in Sopore locality

Sopore, Sep 01: In a shocking incident, burglars stole internal parts including wire and fuel from a 250 KV electric transformer in Tarzoo Sopore area of Baramulla district last night, locals reported.

The locals of the area said that the internal structure of the transformer, along with its wiring and fuel, was taken away by burglars, leaving only the outer shell at the scene.

They said the stolen transformer provided electricity to nearly 35 households in the area.

Additionally, Tariq Ahmed, the lineman of the concerned area, said that locals are now facing huge inconvenience due to the theft of the transformer, which was the source of providing electricity for many houses.

Meanwhile, police have initiated an investigation into the matter, and efforts are being made to restore the supply to the affected households.
