Building locked for 15 years, Govt Primary School in Rajouri’s Trun runs from rented house
Rajouri, Jun 4: Putting students as well as staff members in trouble and hardships, the Government Primary School Trun in Rajouri's Kotranka sub division is lying locked from last more than a decade with government departments have failed to get the school building opened. The school building was reportedly locked by a local family over some dispute. The locals as well as Former Panchyati Raj Institutions (PRIs) are said to have lodged dozens of complaints before the department but to no avail. The Government Primary School Trun is located in Kewal Lower panchayat of Kotranka sub division with around two dozen students enrolled in the school from class 1st to 5th.
Locals led by former Sarpanch of the village, Mohammad Farooq Inqlabi said that the school building, constructed by spending lakhs of rupees is lying blocked from last around fifteen years after a local family put lock on building over some dispute. "The school building is lying close while school is presently being run from a nearby rented house with inadequate space and even classrooms as well as kitchen are being run from same room." said locals.
They stated, " The issue has dozens of times being taken up with education department in the form of verbal communication as well as in the form of written complaints but no officer bothered to resolve the dispute and get the building opened." Inqlabi and others have warned the department of education that the population of area is set to stage a major protest is this dispute is not resolved in next one week and school building is not made operational which has been converted into a store room by a local family.
