Building gutted at Dalgate
Srinagar, Jan 24: A three-storied building was gutted in a fire incident at Dalgate area on Saturday.
Officials said the building housing guest house was extensively damaged in the blaze. He said a fire call was received at Fire Control Room Batamaloo, at around 8:41 am, following which teams from Fire Station Nehru Park rushed to the spot. Given the congested location and the risk of the fire spreading, additional reinforcements were immediately dispatched from Fire and Emergency Services Headquarters, Fire Station Babademb and Fire Station Rainawari,” he said.
Officials stated that upon arriving at the scene, they found the three-storey guest house engulfed in flames and suffering significant damage.
One person sustained injuries during the incident and was provided immediate medical assistance. Officials confirmed that no loss of life was reported, though the building suffered severe damage.
