Building gutted at Bohri Kadal
Srinagar, Nov 26: A building was gutted in a fire incident at Bohri Kadal locality in Downtown.
The incident occurred around 4 pm on Sunday. An official from Fire and Emergency Service said that around 18 fire tenders from various Fire and Emergency Stations were pressed into service to douse off the fire.
“The fire started from the top floor of a three-story commercial building. We pressed many fire tenders to douse off the fire,” said an official.
“There is also a residential house on the back side of the building. There was no loss of life reported in the incident. However, a fire fighter sustained minor injuries in the incident,” he said. The operation to control fire was on when this report was filed.
Meanwhile, residents of the area appealed to the authorities to construct a Fire and Emergency station at the Maharaj Gunj. They said there is a huge requirement for the fire station in the vicinity as the area is highly congested.
