Budgam votes for youth employment, development issues

Budgam, May 13

Since early hours on Monday, voters here in the Budgam district of central Kashmir had turned out in large numbers to cast their votes for the Srinagar Lok Sabha seat. The enthusiasm and determination of the voters were evident as they lined up outside polling stations, eager to exercise their democratic rights and contribute to the electoral process.

Expressing their concerns and aspirations, many voters highlighted the issue of unemployment and emphasised the need for rapid development in their respective areas.

“I have come here to vote because I want to see development in our area. Unemployment is a major issue, and we need leaders who can address this problem effectively,” said Sanaullah Bhat who exercised his franchise at Shamasabad Khan Sahib polling station.

“We need leaders who understand our problems and can work towards creating more job opportunities for the youth,” said Fatima Jan, another voter at a polling station in Chrar-e-Sharif. “This election is crucial for our future.”

A group of voters at a polling station in Pakherpora, Budgam, said that they came out in large numbers and it reflects the determination of the people to bring about a positive change.

“For coming out to vote this time we had no challenges as there was no boycott call,” they said. “People of Pakherpora have shown a strong commitment to the democratic process and their desire for a better future. We need leaders who can prioritise job creation. Unemployment is a major issue and we want our elected representatives to address it effectively.”

Another group of voters at a polling station in the Driagam area of Budgam said that better roads were essential for development.

“We want leaders who will focus on improving infrastructure in our areas,” they said. “Now peace has almost returned to Kashmir. Peace is the foundation for progress. We will keep urging our leaders to work towards creating a more peaceful environment in Kashmir.”

Muhammad Shakir, a voter at a polling station in the Tragbal area of Chare-e-Sharif said that job opportunities were scarce and youth were struggling.

“We need leaders who will work tirelessly to create employment opportunities for us,” said Shakir who has completed a postgraduate degree in bio-science.

He said that in addition to this, infrastructure development was a key to growth.

“We expect our leaders to prioritise the construction of better roads and bridges in our area,” he said.
