Budgam police arrest 3 long-evading absconders
Budgam, Nov 01: In a major crackdown on absconding offenders, Budgam Police have arrested three absconders who had been evading arrest for years from different locations across Jammu and Kashmir.
An official said that acting on the directions of SSP Budgam Nikhil Borkar, special teams led by jurisdictional officers launched coordinated efforts, resulting in the successful arrest of all three accused.
He said that Police Station Budgam arrested Paramjeet Singh, son of Narayan Singh, resident of Dardpora, Baramulla, wanted in FIR No. 381/1981 under sections 279, 337 RPC, absconding since 1984.
Police Station Chadoora arrested Mohammad Iqbal Bhat, son of Ama Bhat, resident of Takiya Rajpora, Pulwama, wanted in FIR No. 05/2021 under sections 8/15/29 NDPS Act, absconding since 2022.
Similarly, Police Station Khansahib arrested Bashir Ahmad Lone, son of Ghulam Nabi Lone, resident of Sitharan, Khag, wanted in FIR No. 114/2012 under sections 379 RPC, 6F Act, absconding since 2024.
After completing all legal formalities, the arrested absconders were produced before the competent Hon’ble Courts, official added.
