“You would have witnessed even in the past that BSF had faced such incidents valiantly. Today also an incident of unprovoked ceasefire violation by Pakistan has occurred. Our BSF personnel, both soldiers and officers, have retaliated to it, in a befitting manner, with their full might. In the process, one of our colleagues has made a supreme sacrifice. We bow our heads to honour and pay tributes to his sacrifice in the line of duty for the nation and share our condolences with his bereaved family. We stand by them (members of family) as one unit at this hour,” Special Director General (SDG) said.

He said that the history was a testimony that BSF, in such situations, always responded in an equal measure and showed its capability to foil any such misadventure of the adversary. “Out of utter frustration, these mischievous forces, occasionally, have been making desperate attempts (to disturb peace). However, every time, our valiant soldiers have failed their designs with great efficacy,” he said.
“Recently after a long interval, they (Pak Rangers) again resorted to such misadventure. Few days ago, they made such an attempt (resorted to heavy firing and shelling) and in retaliation, they themselves suffered heavy damages. We (BSF) went full throttle to respond to their misadventure gallantly in a befitting manner. Rest assured, we will always be a step ahead of them and will make them pay a heavy price for it (misadventure in the form of firing or shelling),” SDG stated.

He said that BSF was fully equipped and ready to take on adversaries and foil infiltration attempts, made either through the land; underground or in the air. “Our brave soldiers are always alert, capable and well-trained to contain such activities. Our Force (BSF), laced with advanced surveillance technology, is always ready with sufficient stock of arms and ammunition to face all kinds of challenges on and along the border,” he said.
“They have been well trained, leading to their transformation from a civilian to a valiant soldier, dedicated to the service of the nation,” he said about 663 soldiers, who participated in the parade today.
