BSF organises Bharat Darshan tour for students in Kupwara
Kupwara, Feb 2: The 139th Battalion of Border Security Force (BSF) on Sunday flagged off a nation-wide tour for the students of north Kashmir’s frontier district Kupwara under the banner “Bharat Darshan.”
A group of 15 boys from Government Higher Secondary School in Keran and High School in Mandian, accompanied by a teacher, embarked on a Bharat Darshan Tour which has been organized by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). The tour commenced from the 139 Battalion BSF Headquarters in Trehgam, Kupwara, and will conclude on February 7, upon their return.
Meanwhile, BSF in a statement said, "The Border Security Force (BSF), while vigilantly safeguarding the nation's frontiers, continues to engage in initiatives aimed at fostering unity and strengthening ties with the Kashmiri border population, particularly the youth".
"As part of these efforts, a group of 15 boys from Government Higher Secondary School in Keran and High School in Mandian, accompanied by a teacher, embarked on a Bharat Darshan Tour on February 2, 2025. The tour, organized by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), commenced from the 139 Battalion BSF Headquarters in Trehgam, Kupwara, and will conclude on February 7, 2025, upon their return" reads the statement.
It added that the primary objective of this initiative is to instill a sense of camaraderie and patriotism among the youth while enhancing mutual cooperation, coordination, and trust between the border population and the rest of the country. This tour aims to foster a sense of security and confidence within the border communities.
"In addition to this initiative, 139th Battalion BSF Trehgam is actively conducting various programs in border areas to recognize and support students, engaging with local state officials, school children, and the border population to promote improved understanding and coordination. The tour was formally flagged off by Anil Kumar Guleria, Commandant of the 139 Battalion BSF. During the ceremony, senior BSF officers and civil dignitaries encouraged the students as they embarked on their journey. The Bharat Darshan Tour includes visits to Ahmedabad and various locations in Gujarat, such as the Statue of Unity, Nadabet, and other prominent tourist attractions. The itinerary also features historical and cultural sites, providing students with an opportunity to experience India's rich multicultural and multilingual heritage" the statement reads further.
"This tour represents a unique opportunity for these young participants to immerse themselves in India’s vibrant culture and heritage, gaining valuable insights into the nation’s ongoing development,"it said.
