Bollywood comes to Baramulla

Baramulla, Apr 21:  The old town of Baramulla witnessed a momentous occasion on Sunday as it played host to the first-ever shooting of a Bollywood movie in the area.

Amidst a flurry of activity, actor Emraan Hashmi was spotted at various locations of the town, surrounded by a contingent of Jammu and Kashmir Police and Army personnel, along with his film crew.

In a rare spectacle for the residents, scenes depicting a thrilling chase unfolded in the narrow by-lanes of old town Baramulla at the locations of Tawheed Gunj, Kakarhamam, and Khawaja Sahab.

From intense chase sequences to dramatic moments on the Khanpora Bridge, the film crew meticulously captured the essence of the town’s charm and character.

The presence of a Bollywood actor amidst the backdrop of old town Baramulla stirred immense excitement among the locals, with throngs of enthusiastic youth converging at the shooting sites.

Amidst the hustle and bustle, many seized the opportunity to snap selfies with the renowned actor, adding a touch of glamour to the otherwise calm streets.

“First time have I seen a film actor so closely,” said Tahir Ahmad, a 23-year-old student. “The film shooting here in the old town was unimaginable earlier. However, this time it looks like old town Baramulla too will be showcased on a big Bollywood canvas.”

Fayaz Ahmad, a social activist, attributed the momentous event to the prevailing peace and stability across Jammu and Kashmir.

He commended the efforts of law enforcement agencies in fostering an environment conducive to such events, highlighting the significance of showcasing the region’s beauty and tranquillity to a broader audience.

The filming of a Bollywood movie in the old town Baramulla marks a significant milestone in the cultural landscape of the region, depicting its rich history and heritage.

As the town resonates with the echoes of lights, camera, and action, it serves as a testament to the enduring spirit that defines the region.
