Body recovered from Chenab river in Ramban

Ramban, Dec 8: Ramban Police recovered body of a woman, who allegedly jumped into river Chenab in the Karool area of Ramban on November 21, from the river at Khowbagh area of Ramban on Friday.

Police sources said the body was noticed in the river by a local, on the bank of river Chenab. After receiving information Police and QRT volunteers rushed to the spot and retrieved the body.

They said later the deceased was identified as Mehzooba Begum 36 wife of Mushtaq Ahmed Wani resident of Kundi, Karool, tehsil and district Ramban. She allegedly committed suicide on November 21 by jumping into river Chenab in the Karool area.

SHO Police Station Ramban Inspector Nayeem Ahmed Matoo said that after conducting medico-legal formalities the body of the deceased woman was handed over to legal heirs.
