Body of third missing nomad recovered in south Kashmir’s Kulgam
Kulgam, April 11: The body of the third missing nomad was found in Veshow Nallah in the Mah Bhan area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Friday, officials said.
An official told news agency JKNS, the body is believed to be that of the nomad, who had gone missing in the area recently. Locals informed the police after spotting the body in the stream.
A team from Kulgam Police reached the spot and recovered the body. It was later shifted to District Hospital Kulgam for medico-legal formalities.
Further identification and investigation are underway.
The bodies of two other nomadic persons who had also gone missing were found earlier.
Three youths—Riyaz Ahmad Bajad, his younger brother Showkat Ahmad Bajad, and a third person, Mukhtar Ahmad—went missing from Qazigund in February this year.
Their relatives have been searching for them for the past month and had lodged a missing report at the local police station.
All three hailed from Rajouri and were working as laborers in Qazigund.
The trio left for Ashmuji, Kulgam on February 13, to attend a function in a relatives house. However, they went missing before reaching their destination. Their phones have remained switched off since their disappearance.
While the two bodies were found in March, the body of the third missing youth was recovered today.
