Body of missing man recovered from Jhelum in Sopore

Sopore, Apr 20: Body of a man, who was missing since 28 March 2024, was recovered from river Jhelum in Sopore area of Baramulla district on Saturday morning.

An official said that the man identified as Mohammad Maqbool Mir (70), was missing from his home in Malmapanpora Zaingair area of Sopore since March 28,

He said that his body was fully decomposed and was recovered by some locals in the Kraltang area of Sopore after they found the body floating over water in river Jhelum and they immediately informed the police about it. Soon after intimation, a police team reached the spot and shifted the body to SDH Sopore for legal medical formalities. A case in this regard was registered at Police station Bomai Sopore and further investigation has been initiated, officials said.
