Blood donation camp organised at GDC Handwara
Kupwara, Mar 6: Indian Red Cross Society Kupwara in collaboration with Government Medical College (GMC) Handwara, Army’s 21 RR and Government Degree College Handwara on Wednesday organised a blood donation cum drug de-addiction camp at Indoor Stadium of Degree College Handwara.
Honorary Treasurer, Indian Red Cross Society Kupwara, Ghulam Ahmad Qureshi, Principal Degree College, Handwara, Mohammad Shafi Lone, Medical Superintendent GMC Handwara, Dr Nisar Ahmad Wani, Deputy Superintendent GMC Handwara Dr Aijaz Ahmad, Dr Rehana, HOD Psychiatry Department at GMC Handwara and others attended the camp.
Many volunteers including students and soldiers of 21 RR participated in the camp and donated blood. On the occasion around 63 units of the blood were collected.
Dozens of youth including Army personnel of 21 RR and students donated blood. A maximum of 63 units of blood were collected by the officials of GMC Handwara which was later transported to the blood bank.
The programme was anchored by senior lecturer Nazir Qureshi Ibn Shahbaz.
The Honorary Treasurer thanked all the donors and other participants for their overwhelming participation.
Dr Rehana HOD Psychiatry Department at GMC Handwara elaborated in detail about harmful effects of drug addiction and substance abuse.
Bollywood actress Mateena Rajput and social media influencer Syeda Hubza Ali were also present in the programme.

Syeda Hubza stressed upon youth to work hard to attain their goal in life and not fall prey to anything which can tell upon their career.
