Rajouri, Sep 08: National General Secretary and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s Jammu and Kashmir incharge, Tarun Chugh Sunday said that the poll manifesto of the National Conference (NC) and Congress had been prepared at Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) headquarters in Islamabad and both these parties intended to push the region back into an era of unrest.

Addressing a news conference here, Chugh said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir should remain cautious of the manifesto released by NC and Congress.

“They talk about the release of political prisoners from jails and this shows that the parties intend to push back J&K into the era of unrest and trouble,” he said.

Chugh said that the party would form the next government in Jammu and Kashmir on its own with its own candidates.

“I want to clarify that there is no poll alliance between BJP and any other political party,” he said.

Chugh said that NC President and three-time chief minister Farooq Abdullah used to visit Delhi in the dead of the night to get his personal work done by the government.

“I won't speak much about this as it will close shops and establishments of many people,” he said.

Chugh also put forth a question for Omar Abdullah asking him who was the chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir when the Kashmiri Pandits were displaced from Kashmir.

He also questioned Mehbooba Mufti as to who was the Union Home Minister when the displacement of Kashmiri Pandits occurred.

Terming Omar Abdullah as “Mr Confused”, Chugh said that he issues one statement and then acts contrary to it.

“Omar said I won’t come out of jail. Then, he said the NC won’t contest Block Development Council (BDC) polls. Then Omar said the NC won’t Contest District Development Council (DDC) polls. Finally, he said he won’t contest assembly polls, but his actions were contrary to his claims,” he said.

Interacting with the core committee members of the BJP in Rajouri district during a meeting organised by the district unit, Chugh said that the J&K assembly election was a fight between the NC, the PDP, and the Congress who are sitting in the lap of separatists and the nationalist forces.

“You must remain united and give a befitting reply to these forces,” he said. “Entire J&K is looking at us and our cadre needs to put in a lot of effort.”
