BJP upholds principles of constitution: Dr Darakhshan

Srinagar, Apr 14: Chairperson of the J&K Waqf Board and Minister of State, Darakhshan Andrabi, today said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is deeply committed to upholding the principles enshrined in the Constitution of India, which was drafted under the visionary leadership of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar.

Andrabi made the remarks while addressing a gathering of party workers and supporters during a function held to commemorate the 133rd birth anniversary of Dr Ambedkar here. The event was part of a series of programmes organised by the BJP across all districts of the Kashmir Valley to pay glowing tributes to the architect of the Indian Constitution.

“The BJP is the only political party that is truly carrying forward the legacy of Babasaheb Ambedkar. The party’s governance model is based on the principles of justice, equality, and inclusivity, as laid out in the Constitution,”  Dr Andrabi said. She said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country is witnessing the actual implementation of Dr Ambedkar’s vision through various schemes aimed at the socio-economic upliftment of the underprivileged and marginalized communities.

“Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas is not a slogan, it’s a mission rooted in Ambedkar’s philosophy of equality and dignity for all,” she added.  BJP’s J&K Chief Spokesperson Advocate Sunil Sethi said that the Constitution continues to be the guiding light for the party’s nation-building agenda. He said Dr Ambedkar’s thoughts on democracy, rights, and social justice have shaped modern India and remain more relevant than ever.

Several other BJP leaders and workers participated in the floral tribute ceremony and highlighted Dr. Ambedkar’s immense contribution to Indian society, especially his tireless fight against caste-based discrimination and his commitment to building an egalitarian social order.

As part of the commemoration, BJP units across Kashmir organised awareness programmes,  and community outreach events, showcasing the enduring impact of Dr Ambedkar’s legacy. The event in Srinagar concluded with a collective pledge by BJP workers to rededicate themselves to the principles of equality, justice, and empowerment, and to continue working for the inclusive development of J&K in line with the constitutional values upheld by Dr Ambedkar.
