BJP slams Punjab government over vigilance raids on new party entrant

Chandigarh, Aug 2: BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh has accused the AAP-led Punjab government of misusing police agencies to target political opponents. He criticised the recent Vigilance raids on Ranjit Singh Gill, who had joined the BJP just a day earlier, calling it an act of political vendetta.

Chugh alleged that the Bhagwant Mann government is using state machinery to intimidate rivals and stifle dissent, warning that such actions reflect growing panic within the ruling party over the BJP’s rising influence in Punjab.

He said the BJP will raise the issue at all public and legal platforms, calling it a serious threat to civil liberties in the state.
