"The militant attacks in the Jammu region are a regular feature now. Every day, there are reports of attacks in areas like Chenab, Pir Panjal, Reasi, Jammu, Samba, and Kathua districts. The BJP government's negligence and poor governance have led to this situation, including attacks on Yatris (pilgrims)," said Omar Abdullah while speaking to the media in Baramulla.

The former Chief Minister also criticised the BJP's performance over the past 10 years and said, "They have nothing to show for their governance over the past five to six years. With no real development to present, they are resorting to speaking against the National Conference and Congress."

Omar Abdullah also questioned the BJP's promises following the abrogation of Article 370, asking, "We were asked that the abrogation of Article 370 will open the doors of development and employment opportunities, there will be good governance, and Jammu and Kashmir will move towards prosperity.”

“What happened to those assurances,” the NC leader said. He accused the BJP of attempting to divide the people of Jammu and Kashmir by splitting votes and cautioned against the party's efforts to gain seats with the help of proxies and independent candidates.

He said in this election parties based in places like Bihar and UP, are contesting elections here in Jammu and Kashmir, while none of the regional parties has so far contested election in these states. He said their sole aim is to calm down the popular voice of the people of Jammu and Kashmir by splitting their votes.
