BJP MLA leads protest in Bhaderwah against alleged atrocities on Hindus in Bangladesh

Bhadarwah, Dec 07: Senior BJP leader Daleep Singh Parihar on Saturday led a protest in Bhaderwah against alleged atrocities on Hindus in Bangladesh.

The protesters also burnt an effigy of Bangladesh’s interim govt chief advisor Muhammad Yunus at historic Seri Bazaar to protest against the atrocities on the Hindus and arrest of an ISKCON priest.

The protest started from ancient Vasak Dera temple of the old town locality, with the protesters marching from Ganpat Bazar to historic Seri Bazar.

“Attacking our Hindu brothers and sisters in Bangladesh is absolutely intolerable. This is not just an attack on a religion, it’s an assault on the humanity. We demand that these atrocities are stopped immediately,” said the BJP MLA.

Carrying placards with slogans like “Save Hindus of Bangladesh”, the protesters later submitted a memorandum to the Additional Deputy Commissioner with a demand to protect the minority Hindus and their rights in Bangladesh.

A partial bandh was observed by the minority community in Bhadarwah town and its peripheral areas, however all the government offices, banks, educational institutes functioned normally and public transport was plying on the roads as usual.
