BJP MLA Chander Prakash Ganga bereaved

Jammu, Oct 24: J&K Bharatiya Janata Party Friday expressed its profound grief and sorrow on the sad demise of Sushma Sharma, wife of party MLA from Vijaypur and former minister, Chander Prakash Ganga.

She passed away this morning while her husband was away in Srinagar, where he cast his vote in the biennial elections to four Rajya Sabha seats from J&K. Immediately after casting his vote, he left for Jammu.

Her last rites took place on Friday (October 24, 2025) evening at the cremation ground, Sarore Adda in Samba district.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also expressed his grief over the demise of the BJP MLA’s wife. In his condolence message, he extended his heartfelt condolences to MLA Chander Prakash Ganga and the bereaved family, praying for eternal peace to the departed soul and strength to the family to bear this irreparable loss.

The Legislative Group of the BJP condoled her demise in the Srinagar Legislature complex, where the voting for the RS election was underway, and prayed for peace to the departed soul.

Later, the Legislators, in their joint condolence message, said, “In her passing, we have lost a noble soul known for her simplicity, kindness, and commitment to family and community values. The entire BJP Legislative family stands in solidarity with Chander Prakash Ganga Ji and his family in this hour of deep sorrow.”

“We pray to God to grant eternal peace to the departed soul and strength to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss. Om Shanti,” they said.

The Union Minister of State in PMO, Jitendra Singh, in his condolence message on ‘X’, said, “Shocked to learn about the sudden demise of Smt Sushma Sharma, wife of Sh Chander Prakash Ganga, sitting MLA, former minister and senior BJP leader from Jammu & Kashmir. May her soul rest in peace, may the family have the endurance to bear this grief. Om Shanti.”
