BJP makes Tarun Chugh election in-charge in J&K, Ladakh
Jammu, Jan 27: In a further impetus to its preparedness in the two Union Territories, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Saturday appointed the party’s national general secretary Tarun Chugh as election in-charge for both Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh for ensuing parliamentary polls.
For J&K, senior BJP leader Ashish Sood has been appointed as election co-incharge. Both Chugh and Sood are already holding the responsibility of in-charge J&K affairs and co-incharge J&K respectively.
They were among senior BJP leaders and Members of Parliament, who were appointed as election in-charges and the election co-incharges for 23 states and Union Territories by the BJP president J P Nadda for the Lok Sabha elections-2024.
Engaged in an intense poll-war, BJP in J&K, while trying to retain its two seats, is eyeing on third newly carved Anantnag-Rajouri seat by trying all permutations and combinations to ensure it is in its kitty.
Besides being the election co-incharge of J&K, Sood will also hold the mantle of election in-charge for the state of Goa.
Among others, BJP national secretary Dr Narinder Singh has been named as election co-incharge for Punjab for which the Member Legislative Assembly Vijaybhai Roopani will be the election-incharge.
Other appointees, whose names were cleared by Nadda as election in-charges and co-incharges included Y Satya Kumar as election incharge for Andaman and Nicobar; Ashok Singhal election incharge for Arunachal Pradesh; Vinod Tawde and MP Deepak Prakash as election incharge and co-incharge for Bihar respectively; Vijaybhai Roopani as election incharge for Chandigarh; legislator Purnesh Modi and Dushyant Patel as election incharge and co-incharge for Daman and Diu and MPs Biplab Kumar Deb and Surender Nagar as election incharge and co-incharge for Haryana respectively.
Shrikant Sharma, MLA and Sanjay Tandon will be the election incharge and co-incharge for Himachal Pradesh respectively; MP Laxmikant Bajpai will be election in-charge for Jharkhand; Dr Radha Mohan Das Agrawal, MP and Sudhakar Reddy have been appointed as election incharge and co-incharge for Karnataka; Prakash Javadekar has been made election incharge of Kerala; Arvind Menon will be election-incharge of Lakshadweep; Dr Mahendra Singh MLC and Satish Upadhyay will be election incharge and co-incharge for Madhya Pradesh; MP Vijaypal Singh Tomar and legislator Lata Usendi have been appointed election incharge and co-incharge for Odisha.
Nirmal Kumar Surana will be election in-charge for Puducherry; Dr Dilip Jaiswal MLC will be election incharge of Sikkim; Arvind Menon and Sudhakar Reddy will be election incharge and co-incharge for Tamil Nadu; Baijayant Jay Panda will be election in-charge for Uttar Pradesh; Dushyant Kumar Gautam has been appointed as election-incharge of Uttarakhand and Mangal Pande MLC will be election in-charge of West Bengal with 2 election co-incharges Amit Malviya and Asha Lakda.
