BJP legislators remote controlled by masters: Minister Satish Sharma
Srinagar, Nov 7: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Transport, Science and Technology, Information Technology, Youth Services and Sports, and ARI and Training, Satish Sharma Thursday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislators of being "controlled remotely by someone else".
He made the statement in the house as the BJP legislators were protesting over the passing of a resolution demanding the restoration of special status and constitutional guarantees besides working out a constitutional mechanism for restoring these provisions.
Amid the anti-resolution and anti-Speaker slogans raised by the BJP MLAs, Sharma asked the BJP members that if they wanted to do something for the people, they should demand back the statehood.
“But you do not dare to raise this voice. You cannot do it,” he said.
Sharma said that the BJP lawmakers present in the house were "slaves" and "labourers" of the federal government.
“This is a very sad thing to see,” he said.
Sharma said that the workers and employees were unhappy in Jammu and Kashmir while the children were sad as well.
“Every faction of the society including the transporters is unhappy here. So please do not display your fake behaviour here in the house,” he said.
Sharma accused the BJP legislators of being dual-faced people and creating a ruckus in the house to get media hype.
“You are doing this only to get captured by the camera. If you love Jammu and Kashmir, then do it from your heart,” he said.
Sharma asked the BJP lawmakers if they were "remotely controlled by someone else".
“Your remote control lies with someone else. You are not leaders but actors,” he said.
Sharma said that the people of Jammu would never forgive these BJP lawmakers.
To this, the BJP MLAs responded by raising slogans 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai.'
"Bharat mata will help you if you follow the footsteps of Atal Bihari Vajpayee,” Sharma said.
He asked the BJP MLAs not to waste the “precious time” of the house.
“I hope good sense prevails. You are cheating your people and they will not forgive you. You have double standards,” he told the BJP legislators.
