Chandigarh, Apr 18: BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh has launched a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)-led Punjab government, accusing it of creating an atmosphere of terror and failing to uphold national interests. In a strongly worded statement, Chugh alleged that the Bhagwant Mann government, in collaboration with the Congress, has deliberately fostered a climate of insecurity across the state.

“The AAP government has completely failed to safeguard national interests and appears to be intentionally cultivating a sense of fear and terrorism in Punjab,” Chugh said. He further alleged that the Congress and AAP were working hand-in-glove to destabilise the state.

Chugh expressed concern over the alleged deterioration of law and order, citing recent incidents of grenade attacks.

“The state has witnessed nearly two dozen grenade blasts, including attacks on police stations and even Hindu religious sites. Now, political leaders are being targeted by anti-national forces,” he said.

Questioning the government’s role, Chugh accused the Mann administration of suppressing dissent and shifting the narrative to deflect from its own failures. “The way the Bhagwant Mann government is attempting to stifle opposing voices is deeply troubling. People across the state are feeling increasingly insecure,” he said. Chugh also raised serious concerns over what he called the “free play” of anti-national forces in Punjab. “Instead of cracking down on these elements, the AAP government seems complicit by its inaction, if not direct cooperation,” he added. The remarks come amid heightened political tensions in Punjab, with opposition parties accusing the state government of failing to maintain law and order following a series of security incidents in recent months.
