BJP leader Ravinder Raina says Kashmiris face multiple problems, pledges vigilant opposition role
Srinagar, Dec 13: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Ravinder Raina, who is on a visit to various areas of Kashmir on Sunday, said that the people of the Valley are grappling with multiple problems and challenges, stressing that it is the responsibility of the opposition to act as a vigilant watchdog.
Speaking during his interactions, Raina said that issues related to basic amenities, governance, and day-to-day hardships continue to affect locals. He asserted that as an opposition party, the BJP would keep a close watch on the functioning of the government and raise concerns of the people at appropriate forums.
“Our role as an opposition is to remain alert and ensure accountability. We have to keep an eye on the government and highlight issues that affect the common people,” Raina said.
The BJP leader also launched a sharp political attack on the Congress party, claiming that it has lost relevance across the country. “The Congress party is finished at the national level and nobody takes it seriously anymore,” he said, adding that people have moved on from what he termed outdated politics.
Raina said his visit to Kashmir was aimed at understanding ground realities and listening to the concerns of locals.
He added that the BJP would continue its outreach programmes and remain active in highlighting public issues while performing its role as a responsible opposition. [KNT]
