BJP leader and ex-MLA Faqeer Muhammad Khan dies by alleged suicide in Srinagar

Srinagar, Mar 20: Former legislator from Gurez, Faqeer Muhammad Khan, allegedly ended his life using his licensed revolver at his government accommodation in Tulsibagh, Srinagar. 

Khan, who contested the 2024 Assembly elections on a BJP ticket, was found dead in his official quarter. Authorities have launched a probe to ascertain the circumstances leading to his death.

Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly mourned his demise, observing two minutes of silence as a mark of respect. Political leaders have expressed their condolences, recalling his contributions to public service in the region.[KNT]
