Jammu, July 4: J&K Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) Thursday extended gratitude to the Union Minister for Road, Transport and Highways (MoRTH) Nitin Gadkari for agreeing to the demand of Jammu people not to raise the blind wall in the construction of Kunjwani-Narwal Expressway.

BJP MP Jugal Kishore Sharma, while addressing a press conference, stated that the RE blind wall between Kunjwani and Narwal, as part of the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway would not be built as desired by the people.

Senior BJP leader and former MLA Devender Singh Rana, former MLC Choudhary Vikram Randhawa, media incharge BJP Dr Pardeep Mahotra, convenor BJP Trader Cell Sham Langar and Kulbeer Charak accompanied Jugal during the press conference at party headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.

“We are thankful to Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari for agreeing to the demand of Jammu people not to raise the blind wall in the construction of highway,” Jugal said.

He also thanked BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh and J&K BJP president Ravinder Raina for their active role in resolving the issue.

Devender Singh Rana briefed about the meeting with the Union Minister and said that the minister (Gadkari) was very supportive of the genuine demand raised by the J&K BJP leaders on the request of local people and market associations. He said that Union Minister Nitin Gadkari agreed that the blind wall was not desirable at the spot and asked for immediate action on the issue and assured all concerned that there would be no blind wall on the spot.

Meanwhile, Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industry JCCI) president Arun Gupta also expressed gratitude to the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highway and thanked Tarun Chugh, BJP national general secretary and incharge Jammu Kashmir Party Affairs and Jugal Kishore Sharma, Member Parliament for their efforts resolving the issue pertaining to the disputed fly-over from Kunjwani-Narwal sector.
