Srinagar, Apr 19: National Conference Vice-President Omar Abdullah Friday took a jibe at Home Minister Amit Shah’s statement that they will not field candidates from Kashmir region in the ongoing Lok Sabha polls, saying “Had BJP left ground it would have some meaning, but this is not the case, rather they are commanding the situation from the back”.

Omar who is former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir said the declaration of Home Minister is ample evidence that BJP has failed to win hearts of people of J&K after decision taken on August 05, 2019.

“It is beyond understanding when BJP fielded its candidate in 2019 elections in J&K, why the party is shying away from fielding its men today. Does it a clear admission of BJP that it has failed to win hearts of people of Jammu and Kashmir after August 05, 2019,” Omar Abdullah said.

While hitting at BJP led central government, the former chief minister said that it is evident that decisions taken on August 05, 2019 led further anger and alienation in Jammu and Kashmir.

On BJP leader’s repeated visit and meetings in Kashmir with other political parties, the former CM Omar Abdullah said “Tarun Chugh is continuously visiting Kashmir and meeting political leaders here. During his recent visit he drove straight to the residence of a local political leader and another one later on followed his cavalcade there. What was discussed there? Everyone knows their bonding with BJP”.

He said our doors are shut for Tarun Chugh. “Neither he will visit to us, nor will we give him entry. This is the difference between Altaf Bukhari and National Conference,” Omar added.
