BJP celebrates 45th foundation day across Kashmir
Srinagar, Apr 6: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) marked its 45th Foundation Day on Sunday with celebrations held at its office here and some other places also.
The event here, infused with patriotic spirit and enthusiasm, brought together party leaders, senior functionaries, district office-bearers, and grassroots workers from across the Valley.
Union Minister of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, and Minority Affairs, George Kurian Chief Guest.
In his address, Kurian commended the dedication and perseverance of BJP workers in Kashmir and reiterated the party’s steadfast commitment to national integration, development, and inclusive growth in Jammu and Kashmir.
“The Bharatiya Janata Party has always stood for Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, aur Sabka Prayas,” he said. “Our foundation is rooted in the spirit of nationalism and selfless service. Kashmir holds a special place in our hearts, and we will continue working towards its peace and prosperity.”
Also present at the event was Waqf Board Chairperson and Minister of State, Dr Darakhshan Andrabi, along with BJP leaders from Kashmir. The celebration began with the hoisting of the party flag and the singing of patriotic songs, followed by the reading of the Foundation Day message from BJP National President Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda.
A significant segment of the programme was dedicated to paying homage to BJP leaders and workers who laid down their lives for the nation. A moment of silence was observed in their memory, reinforcing the party’s resolve to carry forward their legacy with unwavering sincerity.
The Foundation Day was not limited to the central event in Srinagar. Celebrations were simultaneously held across all 10 districts of the Kashmir Valley, coordinated by respective BJP District Presidents. These district-level events witnessed spirited participation from local karyakartas and supporters, highlighting themes of unity, grassroots empowerment, and democratic commitment.
In a parallel event held at Church Lane in Srinagar, BJP leaders and workers gathered to reaffirm their allegiance to the party’s founding principles and renew their pledge to contribute meaningfully to nation-building.
The day concluded with a collective oath-taking ceremony, where BJP workers across Kashmir vowed to uphold the party’s ideology and rededicate themselves to the cause of a peaceful, developed, and inclusive Jammu and Kashmir.
