BJP alleges Rs 30,000 Cr land deal in Punjab: Tarun Chugh
Chandigarh, Aug 6: BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh has accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of striking aRs 30,000 crore deal with Delhi-based realtors under Punjab’s new land pooling policy. Calling it a “Punjab loot exercise by Delhi-based AAP”, Chugh claimed the scheme is designed to benefit Arvind Kejriwal and his associates at the cost of Punjab’s farmers.
Speaking at a BJP organisational meeting in Chandigarh, Chugh said the policy would hand over 75,000 acres of land including 40,000 acres of fertile farmland to private interests. He described the initiative as a "Ponzi scheme" and alleged it was part of a secret arrangement between AAP leaders and real estate firms.
Chugh announced that the BJP, under the leadership of state working president Ashwani Sharma, would soon launch a protest campaign to protect the interests of farmers. He urged newly appointed district leaders to strengthen the party’s base and intensify outreach efforts across the state. Warning of further action, Chugh said, “If the AAP government does not withdraw this anti-farmer policy, BJP will take the fight to every village and town.”
