Bilal Colony link road awaits blacktopping
Srinagar, Mar 4: Residents of Bilal Colony are growing increasingly frustrated as the lane connecting their locality to the 90 Feet Road remains without macadamization, despite assurances from authorities.
For over three years, the residents have waited for the completion of this vital link road, while all adjacent bylanes and roads have been macadamised.
“They promised us that the road would be blacktopped within days, but unfortunately, it seems the authorities have forgotten about us while other surrounding roads received attention,” lamented a local resident.
The impact of the unpaved road has become particularly pronounced. “Every time we have a few inches of rain, this lane turns into a cesspool, making it extremely difficult for us to move outside our homes,” expressed a resident highlighting the severe conditions faced by the community.
In light of these ongoing issues, residents are urgently appealing for intervention from local officials, including MLA Hazratbal Salman Sagar, the District Development Commissioner, and the Chief Engineer of the Roads and Buildings (R&B) department. “We urge them to look into this matter and direct the concerned authorities to expedite the blacktopping of our road,” they said.
