Bike lifter arrested in Jammu

Jammu, Oct 13: Police Sunday stated to have apprehended a bike lifter in a swift and effective action in R S Pura.

Police also recovered a stolen motorcycle from his possession.

“On October 8, 2024, Deepak Kumar, a resident of Ward No 11, R S Pura, filed a written complaint, stating that his motorcycle, bearing R C No JK02BW/2546, was stolen from outside his house on September 12, 2024 at around 6.30 pm. Acting promptly on this information, an FIR No 221/2024 U/S 303(2) BNS was registered at R S Pura Police Station and a special team was formed to investigate the matter,” Police said.

With the help of intelligence gathered from local sources and technical surveillance, the police apprehended the accused Mushtaq Ali, son of Rashid Ali, resident of Old Agra Chak, R S Pura.

According to Police, upon sustained interrogation, Mushtaq Ali admitted to the crime and based on his disclosure, the stolen motorcycle was recovered.
