Bhutanese PM meets President Droupadi Murmu
New Delhi, Mar 15: Dasho Tshering Tobgay, the Prime Minister of Bhutan, paid a diplomatic visit to the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, at Rashtrapati Bhavan today, March 15, 2024. Warmly welcoming the Bhutanese Prime Minister to India, President Murmu expressed her appreciation for choosing India as his inaugural overseas destination.
She emphasized the deep-rooted and special relationship between India and Bhutan, characterized by mutual trust, goodwill, and understanding across all levels of engagement. Highlighting the shared spiritual heritage of Buddhism, President Murmu underscored its role in connecting the two nations.
During their discussions, President Murmu underscored the significance of the multifaceted partnership between India and Bhutan, which encompasses areas such as energy cooperation, development collaboration, people-to-people relations, as well as trade and investment ties.
She reiterated India’s commitment to strengthening these bonds further, emphasizing the reliability of India as a steadfast friend and partner to Bhutan.
