New Delhi, July 10: The Foreign Minister of Bhutan, D. N. Dhungyel, has arrived in New Delhi to participate in the BIMSTEC Foreign Ministers' Retreat. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal commented, "The visit will further strengthen the close bonds of friendship and cooperation between India and Bhutan and advance regional cooperation."

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister U Than Swe of Myanmar also received a warm welcome upon his arrival in New Delhi for the same event. MEA spokesperson remarked, "Progressive discussions on strengthening regional cooperation for a prosperous, connected, and secure Bay of Bengal region lie ahead."

External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar will host the 2nd BIMSTEC Foreign Ministers' Retreat in New Delhi on July 11-12, 2024. This retreat will provide an informal setting for the Foreign Ministers of BIMSTEC countries to explore avenues to broaden and deepen cooperation across various sectors, including security, connectivity, trade and investment, and people-to-people contacts in the Bay of Bengal region.
